The Mueller Megawatt Project was started in the middle of 2009 to loosely organize a grassroots effort to go solar in the Mueller Community in Austin, TX. The ultimate goal of the group is to see one Megawatt (1,000 kilowatts) of solar capacity installed in the Mueller neighborhood.

While each individual's incentives and goals vary, the cumulative goal of the Mueller Megawatt's efforts are:
(1) to promote the Mueller Community as one of the leading, sustainable neighborhoods in the United States,
(2) to reduce our cumulative impact on the environment,
(3) to support investment in innovation for the new energy economy,
and (4) to make a sound investment in our financial futures.
